R. Wayne Collett established Arrow Rents in Montgomery in 1954 with a few pieces of rental equipment and an idea that was bigger than his budget. As the business grew, Wayne was involved in all aspects of the business until he sold it to his son Greg in 1991. Wayne is one of the founders of the American Rental Association. He served as the ARA Region Three Director, Vice President for two terms, President and Chairman of the Board. He was honored with the Distinguished Service Award, and later inducted into the ARA hall of fame.

As a child, Greg mowed the lawn outside the store, raced the dishwashers at their work, and learned the business from the ground up. The Party Professionals was created in 1979 to address a growing party industry. When Greg finished college in 1982, he went to work for the company full time. In 1991, he purchased the business from his father, and has owned and operated the business ever since.
